Technical Specification:
Initially, the portable container cleanroom was used as a temporary facility to continue operations while the main pharmacy was being rebuilt, but after many years, the portable container cleanroom is still in use. The facility is now used for dispensing cytotoxic and preparing TPN products.
The facility is housed within a modified 40ft / 12m steel container. This provides an extremely robust enclosure when closed up, yet feels light and airy when the outer doors are opened up for use. The use of a standard container ensures easy transport anywhere as well as a robust enclosure. On site, the unit is simply plugged into electrical mains and cold water and an external connection is made to a suitable drain nearby. The facility at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHS Trust was operational in under a week from delivery.
